What is a blog?
The term blog is really a shortened version of the phrase web log, when put together becomes weblog, then chopped up a little more becomes blog. From the origin of the word you can simple say a blog is a web log.
A web log of what? It can be a web log of anything really. Many web logs (blogs) are about peoples lives, they place a "log" online about themselves. Companies use blogs to talk about and promote their products.
Blogs have become unique because not only do they present information in the traditional web format like all other web pages; they almost always provide a feed link. A feed is like the core layer of information from the blog. A blog also should encourage user interaction in a way that traditional web sites do not, with comments.
Most blogs should allow you to comment on each piece of content. This can create a nice interaction between the blogger and the readers. It is each entry without much design and layout. The advantage to this is that the blog can then be read and followed by non-traditional methods, with or without a traditional web browser.
